The Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently at a crossroads with the release of Secret Invasion. The Skrulls have come to Earth and they won’t leave until they invade it. This event will have consequences in the world of House of Ideasand besides The Marvels, another project likely to be affected by this invasion is Captain America: Brave New World.
The character’s fourth film will be totally different from what has been seen so far, since after the events of Avengers: Endgamethe Vibranium shield became part of Sam Wilson. During an interview with Inversethe actor who plays FalconAnthony Mackie, has explained the differences between his version of Captain America and that of Steve Rogers.
“It’s more about Sam’s ability to connect and advise. He’s not as reckless in wielding weapons as Steve Rogers was. Having a super serum makes you unbeatable, so your response to everything is to fight, while that Sam Wilson can die quite easily”.
As told in the interview, the main difference between him and Rogers are superpowers. The fact that Sam Wilson not having superpowers as such makes his take on heroism much more human than the original Captain America’s. Unlike Steve RogersFalcon has to be careful with every step he takes.
In addition, Wilson’s current context gives him much more freedom when it comes to defending himself. Once the war is over, Steve Rogers’ Captain America refuses to use weapons, as by fighting in places where there are civilians, he seeks to prevent the loss of innocent life. It is planned that Captain America: Brave New World opens in theaters on July 26, 2024.
