The reboot of one of the most famous anti-heroes of the 90s is still in active development: this is what we know about Spawn

During the 90’samong the heroes of Marvel and DC, a rather peculiar character emerged from nowhere: Spawn. Created by Todd McFarlanethe comic, owned by Image Comics, became famous for its dark story and exceptionally good drawing, leading to a film adaptation in 1997.

However, although technically it was quite good for the time, the script left much to be desired and went unnoticed in theaters. Even so, Blumhouse wants to give a new life to Spawn with a reboot that was confirmed several years ago and about which nothing is known… until now.

In an interview with Comicbookthe president of the production company, Jason Blum, confirmed that the film reboot of Spawn is still in full developmentalthough he is currently facing a very common problem in Hollywood: the writers’ strike.

I would say you have a lot to look forward to because it’s in very, very active development. What needs to happen is for the writers and the studios to work out their differences to get back to writing. We have a great group of people working on it and my hope is that maybe we will see a Spawn movie in 2025. This is not a promise, just my prediction.“.

Although Spawn seems to be going from strength to strength at full sail, the writers’ strike has caused an indefinite stoppage in the development of the film. Spawn will be directed by its own creator, Todd McFarlane, and will star Jamie Foxx. In turn, the producer confirmed that the film was not going to be one of superheroes to use, but a horror film for adults.
