He paid for insurance when sending the package, but it never arrived and he was not paid

A viewer contacted Telemundo 52 Resonde after spending months looking for an answer about a package he sent and never arrived, despite the fact that it was insured.

Juan Carlos Masías is dedicated to buying and selling film equipment, and when a package worth thousands of dollars simply disappeared, he tried everything, but no one gave him an answer.

“Everything starts on a common day, you pack your merchandise, and you are going to leave it at the State Post Office. United, and leave your box,” said Masías, a cameraman and cameraman who sells film equipment.

For Masías, who has been buying and selling film equipment for 14 years, sending mail is something routine, and in this case, he chose to pay for insurance, since the value of the piece, a tripod head, was high.

“It should be around 5.6 thousand dollars, and I insured it for $2,000, because you are never going to leave something thinking that it is going to be lost,” said Masías.

But the box, which was destined for Florida, did not arrive.

“In truth it has been two months of Via Crucis. (Making calls, going local, (making calls) of up to 2 hours by phone,” Masías added.

There are more than 24 million retirement fund accounts that have been forgotten. Telemundo 52 Responde has all the details on how to find your 401k and claim your money.

Masías said that he filed a claim with the postal service, and made two appeals, in addition to having gone multiple times to the Encino office, where he sent the package, but they did not answer him.

“They didn’t respond. It was spending energy calling, writing, all that, and there was no one to answer, so that’s why I came to you (Telemundo 52 Responds)”, said Masías.

As soon as Telemundo 52 Responde received his case, the United States Postal Service (USPS) was asked for an explanation, and Masías said that, finally, there was a response.

“Once I spoke with you (Telemundo 52 Responde), the call was immediate”!

He confirms that they sent him a check for the insured amount, in addition to shipping costs, a total of $2,116.85, although he said that he was left with an unknown quantity that bothers him.

“This was lost inside the main office, where I left the box, after days, it never left there,” he added.

And although Telemundo 52 Responds asked the USPS for a statement or explanation of what happened, they only reported that they had already resolved the case with Mr. Masías.
