Within the framework of the electoral processes for the governorship of Coahuila, the candidate of Morena —Armando Guadiana— recounted how his childhood was, what he worked as a child and even how much his father earned.

Through a video posted on his social networks —which is part of a series of video clips within his electoral campaign— the licensed senator recounted that he was a shoe shiner during his childhood.

“I was born in the common land of Múzquiz, a municipality in the coal region. I worked as a child when I was in elementary school. I remember that when I was shining shoes, some older boys beat me up, took my box and sent me home bleeding,” said the aspiring local executive.

Likewise, Guadiana, who is now 77 years old, told what was the salary that his father received in those years. “My father at that time earned more or less twice Minimum salary. At that time it was 17 to 19 pesos, and we got ahead that way, ”recalled the applicant, who assured that he has known everything.

For his part, he also expressed that during his university days he was going to work in the United States with a tourist visa. “In vacations from when I studied engineering, I am a civil engineer; I was going to work in the United States. I had my older brother, he lived on the outskirts of Chicagothere in the state of Indiana and on vacations I went to work”.

The former local deputy in the Coahuila Congress He pointed out that in the United States “they pay you well by the hour, but you have to work very hard.”

However, it should be noted that before being a militant politician of the Fourth Transformation movement, Armando Guadiana is a wealthy businessman from the mining sector. Of these companies, six correspond to the field of mining, while three more are dedicated to real estate and the rest for various purposes, such as: Real del Castillo Soccer, Promotions and Shows Zapalinamé, Materials and Crushed El Pilar; Saltillo Mechanical Manufacturing, among others.

For his part, despite the fact that the first time he competed for the governorship of Coahuila, in 2017, he declared that he had more than 30 properties throughout the state, for the 2023 electoral process he adhered to the principle of austerity, since in his corresponding statement As of May 2022, he claimed to have no assets.

Meanwhile, his experience in the public sector dates back to 1971, when he was General Director of Cadastre in the state of Coahuila; position that he held until 1973. That same year he had his first participation in politics, when he was part of the Coahuila Congress until 1976.

Guadiana Tijerina was an active member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) until 2012, when he left to join the ranks of the National Regeneration Movement (Brunette), who launched him for the first time in 2017 as a candidate for state governorship, finishing third on that occasion, losing to Miguel Ángel Riquelme, of the PRI.

Now, the morenista competes against Manolo Jimenez —former secretary of Inclusion and Social Development during the Riquelme government— who is the candidate of the coalition It goes through Coahuilaintegrated by the BREAD, PRI and PRD.

It also competes against Ricardo Mejia Berdejathe Labor Party candidate (PT), who sought to be championed by Morena and, after failing to do so, left his position in the federal government’s Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) to go after the governorship with another party.

In contention is also Evaristo Lenin Perezcandidate of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) and the local party Unidad Democrática de Coahuila (UDC).
