The court of Dar El Beida today requested a sentence of one year in prison with a fine of 20,000 DA, against a twenty-something. And this, for attempted theft in a store selling snacks, located at the “Dream Park” park in Mohammadia, east of the capital Algiers. Indeed, it is about a sum of 18,000 DA which was stolen this Thursday. And this, at the same time as the announcement of the Algerian authorities of the first day of Eid el-Fitr.
In accordance with the procedures for immediate appearance, the suspect was therefore interviewed this Sunday. During this hearing, the young man arrested confessed in front of the president of the session that he had stolen the sum of money from the safe of the snack shop when he was in the amusement park “Dream Park”. .
According to an Arabic-language media in its new issue today, the accused said he regrets his behavior, he who put his hand in the drawer without feeling guilty at the time. And that’s not all ! The principal concerned made it known that he wanted to buy clothes for Eid with the stolen money.
The victim waives compensation
According to the revelations of the same media source, the suspect was denounced by one of the workers present. Because of this, the store owner managed to recover his money which the suspect had hidden in his pants under his leg. Moreover, the arrested twenty-something confirmed that the money was immediately recovered, and that he will not reoffend, asking the judge to grant him a pardon.
In the same vein, it should be recalled that the owner of the store, victim of this theft, has given up seeking financial compensation from the court. However, the public prosecutor requested a prison sentence and a fine of 20,000 DA against the suspect, as mentioned above.
