He was wanted for a murder in Fresno;  authorities arrest him on Ceres

FRESNO COUNTY, California – The suspect was apparently hiding out at a Ceres motel, where he was arrested by local police and later turned over to Fresno authorities.

Miguel Gutiérrez Jr. was wanted for allegedly committing a murder on August 1 in Fresno. According to preliminary information, the suspect would have killed Ismael Herrera Jr. whom he left abandoned in the garage of a house.

Herrera’s body was found by a homeowner in the Blythe and Clayton area, between Easton and Raisin City, south of Fresno County.

Ceres police authorities received information as to the location of the fugitive and proceeded to execute an arrest warrant.

The 39-year-old victim was a homeless person who frequented Caruthers and Riverdale. At the moment they have not revealed the motive for the crime.

Fresno County Sheriff’s authorities ask for the community’s help in capturing Miguel Gutiérrez Jr.
