The takeover agreement reached includes, among other things, a cash advance payment of around 362 million pounds sterling, the equivalent of almost 410 million euros, as well as other performance-related remuneration.

BioNTech sees the acquisition as an important building block in its strategy to accelerate the development of “next-generation immunotherapies and vaccines” with modern, AI-driven research. 240 highly qualified specialists will also be taken on to strengthen the German company in the areas of AI, bioengineering, data science and software development. You also benefit from the fact that InstaDeep operates several international locations. Karim Beguir, CEO and co-founder of InstaDeep, on the goals they now want to pursue as part of BioNTech: “Together we want to build a world-leading company that combines biopharmaceutical research and artificial intelligence with the aim of delivering next-generation immunotherapies to improve medical care to help fight cancer and other diseases with unmet medical needs.”

Prof. Dr. Sahin, CEO and co-founder of BioNTech, emphasizes that his company’s goal is to integrate AI into everything the company does.
