KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Jonah Heim hit a three-run homer and Marcus Semien had three hits and two RBIs as the Texas Rangers routed the Royals 12-3 Wednesday night. for Kansas City, completing a lopsided sweep in the three-game series.

Dominican Ezequiel Durán cleaned the bases with a double. Leody Taveras and Adolis Garcia also drove in two runs apiece, helping the Rangers (12-6) earn their fourth straight victory and tying their fifth-best start to a season in franchise history.

Venezuelan starter Martín Pérez (3-1) allowed three runs and eight hits in 5 2-3 innings. He has pitched at least five innings in 34 consecutive outings, the longest streak by a left-hander on the Rangers, despite allowing more than two runs for the first time this season.

That hardly mattered against the heavily outscored Royals (52-12). They suffered their sixth straight loss, and the ninth of their last ten games, falling to 4-15 in their first year under manager Matt Quatraro.

Kansas City has only won one of its 13 home games this season.

Brady Singer (1-2) allowed five runs and six hits and three walks on 97 pitches thrown over five sluggish innings.

For the Rangers, Durán 5-1, three RBIs. Tavers 5-3, two runs scored and two RBIs. Garcia is 1-for-4, one scored and two RBIs.

For the Royals, Venezuelans Salvador Pérez 4-1, one scored; and Edward Olivares 4-0. The Dominican Franmil Reyes 3-2, one scored.
