Accessibility often only plays a subordinate role in app development and ultimately excludes entire customer groups. In the official environment, accessibility is now even required by law. Apple provides a number of central APIs for its platforms in order to make apps usable for people with physical disabilities and ultimately more accessible for everyone – if developers take this into account and implement it. The VoiceOver screen reader, which is deeply integrated into the operating system, and dynamic font sizes are just two examples of this.

In the new Mac & i webinar “Accessible apps on all Apple platforms” the specialist author Klaus Rodewig introduces developers and user interface designers to Apple’s relevant interfaces and shows which accessibility options iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS offer to make your own apps barrier-free or at least low-barrier.

An exemplary iOS app demonstrates the integration of various accessibility functions in practice and allows accessibility to be tested. The agenda also includes the legal framework with regard to accessibility and the big question of costs, which does not remain unanswered.

The approximately two-hour webinar will take place on February 8, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can take part conveniently online from your own desk. Attendees will also be able to ask questions via chat and will have unlimited access to the video recording and materials. The price of the ticket is 129 euros.

With the new Mac & i Pro subscription for admins and developers, participation in this and other webinars is free of charge, including a total of 24 webinars per year.
