Were the hiking pants you got for Christmas the wrong size? Or did you get classic skis when you wanted skate skis?

Then you were perhaps one of many tens of thousands of Norwegians who took the first opportunity to exchange the Christmas present you received on the third day of Christmas.

– Full thrust

At Bergen’s largest shopping centre, Lagunen, there have been many visitors.

Around 4.30pm, center manager Tone Havneraas was able to announce that 23,000 people from Bergen had visited the centre.

– Still more than four hours left, so we end up well over 30,000, writes Havneraas in a message to TV 2.

According to the center manager, this is over last year.

Also over the mountain, at Storo storsenter in Oslo, the center manager reports high activity.

– Here it is full force, says Unni Merethe Aasgaard.

The center had had over 10,000 visitors around 4pm today. And Aasgaard still expected 15,000 more visitors.

Remember the exchange slip

Two out of five say they prefer to exchange gifts they don’t need, according to Unicef.

Although it is not a necessity, it is a great advantage if you have a change tag.

– The right of exchange over the counter is not regulated by law, so without an exchange slip the store can legally refuse you to exchange the gift, writes senior legal advisor at the consumer council, Thomas Iversen to TV 2.

According to Iversen, it is very rare that you are refused to exchange the gift if it is unused, but if the gift has been opened, you probably have to wave goodbye to the exchange options.

He also reminds that there are many opportunities to switch this week.

– This space Christmas has many working days, and everyone does not have to change at the same time. To avoid overcrowding, it can be smart to postpone the exchange until later in the week.

– Really the big exchange day

– We have been looking forward to how the visitor numbers would be during Christmas, and especially today as there have been poor roads and slippery roads in Agder for the past few days.

That’s what center manager at Sørlandssenteret, Liv Andersen, says, and says she is satisfied with the visitor numbers around 5:00 p.m.

– We are already up approximately 25 per cent compared to last year on the corresponding day, so this is really the big changeover day, says Andersen.

The center manager adds that several people have started the room Christmas sale, and believes that it also attracts customers to the centre.

– Today seems to be a well-attended day and that means we are optimistic for the end of December.
