Florian Niederlechner will be chasing goals for Hertha BSC in the future. As the Berliners officially announce, the striker will move to the German capital at the beginning of the 2023/24 season and will sign a contract that runs until 2025.
A fee is not due because Niederlechner’s contract with FC Augsburg is expiring. The 32-year-old has appeared in 107 competitive games for the Fuggerstadt team, scoring 30 goals.
“We are pleased that we were able to win Florian Niederlechner for Hertha BSC. With him we get an experienced attacking player who brings with him a goal threat, mentality and physicality. He has demonstrated all of this regularly in the Bundesliga in recent years.”says Managing Director Sport Fredi Bobic.
Reese is supposed to come too
Niederlechner will probably not be the only striker to be drawn to Hertha free of charge for the new season. According to reports, Fabian Reese (25/Holstein Kiel) will also switch to the Berliners.
