While it is currently one of the most “wishlisted” games on Steam, Hogwarts Legacy has been making a lot of noise lately, but unfortunately, not just to give us good news. In addition to the cancellation of some pre-orders, the game was also the subject of a call for a boycott by several activists fighting against transphobia, with JK Rowling and his controversial statements in the viewfinder.
The catch, although the cause is perfectly just, is thatHogwarts Legacy is only collateral damage in the case. Although it borrows well from the universe created by the novelist, it has nothing to do with her. But that obviously, a lot of people didn’t understand it since the game is now being attacked on Steam.

As spotted by on Reddit, Hogwarts Legacy is the victim of an attack directly on its Steam page. Some players, claiming to fight against transphobia, use the tags available on the platform to label the game in categories such as “NFSW”, “World War II” or “Psychological Horror”.
What’s the point ? And of course on Steam, tags are actually quite important since they put games into categories which are then chosen or filtered by users. Steam also uses it to offer à la carte content to its consumers. With such tags, activists therefore hope to “dirty” the game by sending a message. The concern again is that this is not the right target for such claims, however fair they may be, but that is another debate.
Steam cleans up
