In order to survive fights in the open-world role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy unscathed and successfully, you use magic potions. The mega power potion, which heals your character in harder fights, is extremely important at this point. In our guide to herbalism and potion making, we tell you where to get seeds for growing the herbs and other ingredients for the potions. As the game progresses, you unlock the Room of Requirement. There you create your own herb growing and brewing tables for magic potions using summons. Until then, use the potions station or the herb growing table in the appropriate classrooms. The following tips will help you to grow herbs efficiently and to supply healing and magic potions. Seeds for herbs and locations of the ingredients
After a short period of getting used to Hogwarts Castle, the main quest will automatically lead you to Hogmeats. you worry there

In addition to summons for a potion table and a planting table, there are also seeds. However, keep them for now. Take the Herbology and Potions classes for more details. Here, for example, you grow diptam seeds. These are part of the mega power potion you use to heal yourself. In addition to the leaves, you also need Horlump Juice. You get this ingredient in the game world. You will usually find them in caves or near cave entrances. You can obtain seeds for plants that can be cultivated at your planting tables in Hogsmeade in the Magic Turnip. You can buy seeds or fertilizer for potion ingredients from Timothy Teasdale. At Beatrice in Water Plantain & Death Cap you buy seeds for aggressive plants that you use in battles. In the following overview we tell you where to find seeds and potion ingredients for the most important potions.
Mega Power Potion (Healing Potion)
locality: You can get the recipe for the potion for free on your first visit to Hogsmeade in the main quest by visiting J. Pippin’s Potions.
Ingredients:
1x diptam leaves – available as a seed in the Magic Turnip for free the first time you visit Hogsmeade
1x Horlump Juice – found near cave entrances or caves. You always collect the ingredients for your quests. Unfortunately, the ingredient cannot be cultivated.
Edurus Potion (Stone Skin Defense Increased)
locality: You can get the Edurus Potion recipe for free the first time you visit Hogsmeade in the main quest in the J. Pipping’s Potions shop.
Ingredients:
1x Ashwinder Eggs – Below the arches of Hogsmeade Station or in the westernmost Feldcroft region. You can also buy the ingredient from Pippin’s shop for 150 gold each.
1x street mutt fur – visit the Forbidden Forest. You’ll find a few near the Dark Arts Battle Arena. Alternatively, you can buy the item in J. Pippin’s shop for 50 gold pieces.
Focus Potion (Reduces Spell Cooldown)
locality: You buy the recipe from J. Pippin’s Potions in Hogsmeade for 1,200 gold pieces.
Ingredients:
1x lacewing – North of Hogwarts on the way to Hogsmeade you will find lacewings. You can also buy the ingredient from J. Pippin for 100 gold.
1x river grass trunk – Seeds can be purchased at the Magic Turnip in Hogsmeade for 350 gold. You grow river grass on a planting table with a large pot. Alternatively, you can buy the ingredient for 150 gold in the magic turnip.
1x Swamp Rattle Tongue – Defeat Swamp Crawlers near bodies of water or swamps or in the Swamp Crawlers’ Den here, and then take the items left behind with you. Alternatively, you can buy the ingredient from J. Pippin in Hogsmeade for 100 gold pieces each.
Thunderbrew (charge around your character, dealing damage and stunning enemies)
Location: Buy the potion recipe from J. Pippin’s Potions in Hogsmeade for 1,200 gold pieces.
Ingredients:
1x leech juice – On the banks of water you will find a lot of leeches from which you harvest the juice. This potion ingredient is also available for purchase from J. Pippin in Hogsmeade for 150 gold each.
1x fruit of the shriveled fig – You can find the seeds for this in the Magic Turnip in Hogsmeade for 450 gold. Then you grow the fruit yourself in a medium or large pot. Alternatively, you can buy the fruit in the Magic Turnip for 150 gold each.
1x Breath of the Dead – For this you defeat Inferi opponents. South of the battle arena in the Forbidden Forest you will find a ruin with these enemy types. Set enemies on fire and then defeat them. Then collect the loot. Alternatively, you can buy the item from J. Pippin for 100 gold each.
Invisibility Potion (Invisible to all enemies)
locality: You buy the recipe for 800 gold from J. Pippin’s Potions in Hogsmeade.
Ingredients:
1x Domes of Bouncing Toadstools – you can find the red mushrooms almost everywhere along the way. Just collect. On the way from Hogwarts to Hogsmeade you will find some mushrooms. Alternatively, you can buy the ingredient from J. Pippin for 150 gold each.
1x knotweed branch – you buy the seed for the plant in the Magic Turnip in Hogsmeade for 350 gold pieces. Then you grow the branches in a small pot on the planting table. Alternatively, you can buy the ingredient in the Magic Turnip for 150 gold each.
1x troll booger – In the west in the Feldcroft region you will find trolls in their hiding places from which you can get the item. You can also get the ingredient from J. Pippin in Hogsmeade for 100 gold.
Maxima Potion (Increases Spell Damage)
locality: You can buy the recipe for the potion from J. Pippin in Hogsmeade for 500 gold.
Ingredient:
1x leech juice – see Thunderbrew
1x spider fang – You can find lots of spiders that drop this ingredient in the Forbidden Forest or in wooded areas. Alternatively, J. Pippin sells the item for 50 gold each.
locality: Exclusive to those who pre-order the PlayStation PS5 or PS4 versions of the game.

By the way: mallow you need for Merlin’s enigma shrines. You get the Seeds in the Magic Beet can be purchased for 200 gold pieces and grow the leaves.
Planting tables and watering stations in the Room of Desires
On your first visit to Hogsmeade, you’ll also stop by Thomas Brown’s Tome & Scrolls. You get a first planting table and a watering station. Initially, however, you may only plant certain ingredients or brew potions in the Herbology and Potions classrooms. Later, Professor Weasley invites you into the Room of Requirement. Here you get your own room in which you can summon as many planting tables and matching watering stations. New summons can be found as quest rewards or purchased from Thomas Brown in the Tome & Scrolls in Hogsmeade. Mr. Brown calls for the following prices.
But the good Thomas Brown in the Tome & Scrolls has even more summons to offer. The subsequent game stations that you can summon in the Room of Requirement offer upgrades regarding your future houseplants.

At Beatrice in Water Plantain & Amanita Mushroom you get plants for the fight. So you breed mandrakes, Chinese chewing cabbage and Venemosa tentacula. Beatrice calls for the following prices for the seeds.
Chinese Cauliflower Seeds – 600 gold (middle pot for cultivation)
mandrake seeds – 800 gold (small pot for cultivation)
