Available since February 10 on Xbox Series X | S, PC and PS5, Hogwarts Legacy is released today on Xbox One and PS4 almost in total ignorance. Warner has indeed communicated very little about these versions of the game, and no official gameplay video has been shown.

The Xbox One and PS4 versions “hidden” by Warner?

When we see the recent releases and the difficulty most studios have in offering stable versions of their games on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, we begin to fear the worst for the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Hogwarts Legacy.

Faced with the lack of gameplay video of the game, especially on Xbox One, we could only advise you to be careful if you plan to buy Hogwarts Legacy today.

This situation is reminiscent of the release of Cyberpunk 2077, which turned out to be a real fiasco on “old-gen” consoles.

Initial encouraging feedback despite everything

If Warner has not wanted to show the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Hogwarts Legacy for the moment, several videos of the game are still available on the web. Obviously, the title runs quite well on PS4 Pro, even if we obviously notice visual compromises compared to the Xbox Series X | S and PS5 versions.

According to the comparison video by @ElAnalistaDeBits, the game runs at 1080p at 30 FPS on PS4 Pro, with the added bonus of an option to unlock the framerate. The PS4 version also looks decent and is said to aim for 900p at 30 FPS.

On the other hand, for the moment, there is no analysis concerning the Xbox One and Xbox One X versions of the game. If we are not too worried about the Xbox One X, we fear on the other hand a little more the performances of the Xbox One version.

To be sure, we will have to wait for the next analyzes from specialized channels like Digital Foundry, and we will of course follow the subject carefully.
