The Honor Magic5 Lite is definitely an upgrade compared to its predecessor, even though the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 octa-core SoC with eight up to 2.2 gigahertz fast computing cores and an integrated 5G modem is under the hood. Honor mainly upgrades the display and the cameras.

The display is now a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel that offers a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz. The maximum brightness is specified by the manufacturer as 800 candela, which is normally good for interacting with the smartphone outdoors. A fingerprint reader is integrated under the display surface.

Honor now gives the Magic5 Lite a 64-megapixel camera with an F/1.8 aperture and also integrates a simple wide-angle camera with five megapixels and an F/2.2 aperture as well as a largely pointless 2-megapixel camera with an F/2.4 aperture for macro shots . On the front is still a 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.45 aperture. The Snapdragon SoC is combined with six gigabytes of RAM and 128 GB of internal flash memory, although unfortunately there is no microSD card slot. You will also look in vain for a headphone jack here. Other features include ac-WLAN, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and two NanoSIM slots.
The battery of the Honor Magic 5 Lite 5G is slightly larger than before at 5100mAh and can be charged quickly with a maximum of 40 watts via the USB Type-C port, which unfortunately is only USB 2.0 compatible. Unfortunately, wireless charging is not offered here. The operating system here is Android 12 in conjunction with Honor MagicUI 6.1, although it is to be hoped that Honor will make improvements with operating system upgrades in the near future. The official price recommendation for the Honor Magic 5 Lite will probably not be particularly cheap in Europe at 389.90 euros.
