Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time, therefore it is certainly not surprising that the Swedish Mojang team will experiment with more genres and types of games to expand the franchise. A successful test was Minecraft Dungeons, which in its essence Action-RPG accessible to all managed to carve out its space in the myriad of clones. Given the enormous strength of the brand, it didn’t take long before the announcement of a new video game of the series; let’s talk about Minecraft Legendsscheduled for April 18 on Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. Like all Xbox Game Studios titles, it will arrive on day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Well, what is the new Minecraft Legends? It is a strategic action gameprimarily thought to be aPvP experience to play online with friends or with other users from all over the world. The players will in fact be divided into two teams of four players each, and the main objective is to conquer the opposing base by any means possible, and above all with lots and lots of team play.
Communication and strategy
Indeed, communication will be a key element in every match, given that weapons and resources will be shared among team players. Everyone will therefore have to know exactly what, how and when to do it, and put the good of the team first, on pain of defeat. Adopting the right strategy is the first step to take to achieve victory, assigning each member a precise role in order to organize their battle plan in detail.
There are many actions to take to subvert your opponents, including exploring the map to collect resources, build your base and go on the attack. As in any self-respecting strategic game, even in Minecraft Legends you will have to build the perfect forterecting walls, towers and preparing yourself for the enemy incursion by placing traps, archers, cannons… and something even more interesting.
Indeed you will have at your disposal known but also new mobs, and you will have to use them to your advantage to attack your opponents, throwing them as “expendable goods” and thus sparing your companions. In addition, you can also ride them to explore the map faster in order to collect resources needed to build items and weapons. All that glitters is not gold though, because some mobs, like the Piglin, will be ready to kill members of both teams.
Accessible to all
Finally, as in the Minecraft campaign, also in this new version of the Mojang title each map will be randomly generated, so each PvP match will be different from the previous one, making the game even more fun and full of surprises. Similarly, the work will be cross platform and matches can be generated both in private matches and online.
All in all, Minecraft Legends looks really promising, so we can’t wait to start building our base on April 18th!
