You are currently viewing How to replace Siri with ChatGPT

When ChatGPT was first available a while ago, everyone was quickly talking about it.

Artificial intelligence answers almost every query or question imaginable. So what if you installed the chatbot on your iPhone and replaced Siri with it? Below we will explain to you how to do it and why you shouldn’t neglect strong passwords.

Install ChatGPT on iPhone

Some time ago, OpenAI released an app for its well-known chatbot ChatGPT for iOS. You can download it from the App Store. To avoid falling victim to a fraudulent app, make sure it is the official OpenAI application.

If you want to be 100% sure, you can click on the link on the official OpenAI website that will take you to the download page in the App Store. Before the program was released as an app cheater with fake chatbots sometimes charging 180 euros for a subscription.

To use the application, you must also open an account and register with your name and email address.

The app includes Whisper, an open source speech recognition system developed by OpenAI. This allows you to give commands or questions in the application using voice commands and thus use a kind of Siri on the iPhone, which, however, offers significantly more options.

While Siri was often very limited in its answers and was sometimes unable to answer questions at all, the possibilities with ChatGPT are much more extensive.

Are you looking for a recipe? No problem: just ask the chatbot for a good recipe for spaghetti Bolognese. Or you need information about a famous person: ask ChatGPT to provide you with information.

ChatGPT can’t do that

You can use Siri to turn on and off the lights that are linked to your Apple Home app. Some also use the voice assistant to control their heating or check the surveillance cameras.

Things like that that come with that Smart home ChatGPT cannot do this. Likewise, it cannot play a song from Apple Music on command, send a message or make a call.

Account security – strong passwords are a must

With all the advantages that ChatGPT offers, you should not neglect account security. Depending on which commands you give, they may contain sensitive or personal information about you.

An important step is to choose secure access data. Strong passwords are at least 12 characters long and contain uppercase letters, lowercase letters, special characters and numbers. Also, avoid choosing the same password that you already use for other accounts. A mistake that many users make is not using individual passwords.

If you need help meeting these criteria, it is a good idea to use a password manager, which is a virtual safe with which you can store and manage your access data and which creates strong passwords yourself.
