With the HTC Vive XR Elite, HTC has introduced a new “all-in-one flagship” for consumers. In addition to VR (Virtual Reality) functions, the headset can also be used for MR (Mixed Reality) content. A full-color RGB passthrough camera is built into the headset.

There are also four other cameras for the field of vision along with other sensors, for example for depth measurement. The resolution is 2K per eye with a viewing angle of 110 degrees and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. In addition to games, the areas of application also include overlays for learning, for example when practicing instruments or virtual screens for a workplace. The HTC Vive XR Elite also boasts standards such as Wi-Fi 6E. The whole thing is in a headset weighing 625 grams – including batteries. The headset is operated with controllers and hand tracking.

At launch there will be over 100 MR and VR content. In addition to new games, there are also some classics: Demeo, Hubris, Yuki, Maestro, Les Mills Body Combat, FigminXR, Unplugged and FingerGun. Even after the market launch, they want to stay on the ball with Everslaught: Invation or MR games like Eggscape.

The XR Elite connects to a PC via USB-C and can access content from Viveport or Steam there. With Wi-Fi 6E, this is also conceivable with low latencies wirelessly via PC streaming. The headset can also be used wirelessly with compatible Android smartphones. Among them: Netflix, Disney+ or Fortnite. You then want to create a complete gaming experience with a Bluetooth controller on your smartphone.

Cost point for the flagship? 1,399 euros. Pre-orders are possible from today.
