Hunder x Hunter marked a whole generation of readers. The manga then opened up to a new fringe of fans when the anime arrived on Netflix. For their part, the old-timers had to wait four years before being able to know the rest of the work of Yoshihiro Togashi, who returned to service at the end of 2022. While volume 37 will be available next month in France, it looks like the manga is in bad shape.

Hunter x Hunter is now filed within the archived series section of Shōnen Jump. A category that includes all manga finished, canceled or even those gone to other publishers. The future of Gon and his quest then seems more compromised than ever. The Japanese publisher had done everything possible to keep the work in its stable, by agreeing to change the rhythm of publication without it being known what periodicity the manga was going to adopt. It remains to be seen whether this is only the end of the partnership between Togashi and the prestigious publication or the work.
In the first case, the popularity of the manga should allow Hunter x Hunter to find another publisher without too much effort.
