After several weeks of blind auditions, Bigflo and Oli took part in their first battle as coaches in The Voice. A task that was not necessarily easy for the two brothers.
This Saturday, April 15, Bigflo and Oli lent themselves to an exercise that was hitherto unknown to them in The Voice. New coaches for this twelfth season of TF1 telecrochet, the Toulouse rappers had to judge their first battle. And it was Elio and Nicoline that they wanted to see face off. Stressed, the two candidates fought to keep their place by resuming the song Obviously by Angèle and Orelsan. Close to their talents, Bigflo and Oli wanted to reassure them before they went on stage. “It’s exactly like rehearsal except that there are more people”said Bigflo, while his brother Oli encouraged the two participants by hugging them.

At the end of this battle, Nikos Aliagas hastened to question Bigflo and Oli about their feelings. “Were you thinking about the battle or were you just in the pleasure of sharing?”he asked them. “We had fun, it was our first extra. The first battle as a coach”Oli replied. “Me, I felt like I was a bit of their daron”, reacted Bigflo. And the younger of the two brothers to bounce back: “I saw them having fun and that’s the most important thing. I saw them enjoying themselves, it made them forget the stress and enjoy with the public too.” Faced with these confidences, Nikos Aliagas joked with the two coaches about their new role. “So you have become great coaches, big brothers, the total. When you go from blind auditions to battles, you take ten years straight in the face!“, dropped the facilitator. And to greet the two rappers: “In any case, we are happy to have you this year in this season. I would like us to applaud them.”

With this first battle, Bigflo and Oli also discovered a less pleasant facet of the role of coach, since they had to eliminate one of their talents to keep another. At the end of this first duel, the two brothers chose to keep Nicoline, although they were impressed by the rapping skills of Elio, who added a verse he wrote himself to the song that was imposed on them. The two artists, however, promised to keep in touch with the eliminated candidate.
