"I was very afraid" : Mélanie Gonzalez recounts the birth of Margot

For several seasons already, Mélanie Gonzalez has opened the doors of her home to let in the cameras of Large families: life in XXL, TF1’s hit show. The mother of the family is now at the head of a tribe of eight children whom she is raising with her husband Franck. Very active on social networks, she shares the good and bad times. A few weeks ago, she asked her subscribers for help after losing her dog. More recently, she immortalized a touching moment between her two daughters, Cléo and Margot. “Their complicity is just magical, they share everything together“, confided the mother.

Melanie Gonzalez had contractions a month before her due date

On Instagram this Friday, January 20, Mélanie Gonzalez took her time to remember the birth of her daughter Margot (who should have been called something else), born in 2008. A month before her arrival in the world, scheduled for February, the contractions started. On January 18, her mum went to the hospital because the pain was getting too bad, but she hadn’t gone into labor. The next day, the same symptoms returned:I go to the maternity ward and everything stops“January 20, many contractions again, but this time she thought it was still”a fake job“.

“Margot arrived like a champagne cork”

In the early evening, she finally returned to the maternity ward. On the spot, the midwife was distraught: “Delivery room“, she swung directly at him. Shortly after the epidural was placed, Mélanie Gonzalez felt that it was time, but Franck did not dare to warn the staff: “I grabbed her blouse, I told her ‘I tell you that I want to push. It’s now'”. She was so outspoken that everyone came to help her give birth to her daughter, born at 9:23 p.m.: “Margot arrived like a champagne cork”. Result, the baby swallowed “lots of amniotic fluid“and his mother couldn’t”hear him scream“: “I saw them all getting excited. I was very very scared“. Fortunately, the little girl quickly spoke to reassure her mother, but her first days of life were not easy: “She was in an incubator because she was 2.740 kg for 48 cm. She was a little shaken. We didn’t have skin-to-skin contact.“Today, everything is going well since Margot is celebrating her 15th birthday.
