London.- Prince Enrique said that his troubled relationship with the royal family “never had to be like this” and that he wants to “recover” his father, King Carlos III, and his brother Guillermo, in a fragment of an interview with ITV.

“They have shown absolutely no will to reconcile,” he said. “I would like my father back; I would like my brother back.”

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stepped down from their royal roles in March 2020, saying they wanted to forge new lives in the United States away from media harassment.

They have since criticized how they were treated when they were members of the Royal Family, including an accusation by Harry that his brother William, Prince of Wales, yelled at him during a discussion about his future.

In an interview with CBS News in the United States, Harry said that Buckingham Palace refused to publicly support him and his wife, while at the same time the institution was issuing reports against him.

“When we’ve been told for the past six years, ‘we can’t make a statement to protect you’, but you do it for other members of the Family, there comes a time when silence is betrayal,” Prince Harry said.

The interviews with the Duke of Sussex are part of the promotion of his autobiography entitled “Spare”, which will be released on January 10.
