"I'm on the road to recovery": Madonna reappears after hospitalization

NEW YORK – “The Queen of Pop”, Madonna, spoke for the first time this Monday about the medical emergency that has taken her away from the stage, assured that she was “on the road to recovery” and thanked her fans for their love.

Madonna, 64, posted a message on Instagram nearly two weeks after her manager, Guy Oseary, announced that the singer had to be hospitalized for a serious bacterial infection and was postponing her impending world tour.

“Thank you for your positive energy, prayers, and healing and encouraging words. I have felt your love. I am on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life,” says the artist at the beginning of her short text.

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I didn’t want to disappoint anyone who had bought tickets for my tour.

“Now I am focused on my health and getting stronger and I assure you that I will be back with you as soon as I can!”, he stressed.

Madonna said she is rescheduling the dates of her North American tour, which were to start next Saturday in Vancouver, Canada, and said she hopes to “start in October in Europe” as planned.

Precisely this Monday the New York media echoed two photos in which Madonna can be seen incognito walking down the street and with her hand at a traffic light, published on Sunday on TikTok by entertainment journalist Lauren Conlin.

On June 28, Madonna’s representative stated that a few days earlier Madonna “developed a serious bacterial infection that caused her to be in ICU for several days”, raising concerns about her health.
