A case in point about this is what happened in a photography contest in Australia, where an image created with AI won a prize, breaking all the rules of the event.
Artificial Intelligence has become the best tool where many industries are stepping up to improve the products and services they provide to their customers.
And it is that This type of technology refers to any human behavior that develops a machine or system. In this sense, specialists highlight a basic example of AI that we all know about today: PCs, which are devices programmed to “imitate” human behavior using extensive previous data on similar behaviors.

The case
The photo contest organized by DigiDirect has drawn attention in recent days, after an image created entirely by AI will win the top prize of the event.
It was learned that the contest is held every week and asks participants to take any photo with the camera and live in Australia. But to bypass that past and demonstrate the power of AI, the Absolutely Ai company presented an image of the beach, which the juries believed had been taken with a drone, and they awarded it the prize for best photo in the summer category.
Also, to better recreate the work, the name of the person who supposedly submitted the image was Jan van Eyck, who is an alias inspired by a famous artist in northern Europe in the 15th century.
After the controversy that the case registered, the company assured in a statement that its intention was never to circumvent the rules of the event and the human participants, but that they intentionally postulated the false image because they wanted to “to show that we are at a tipping point with artificial intelligence technology.”
“This week, we won a popular DigiDirect photo contest by entering a drone shot of a couple of surfers at sunrise. It is a beautiful image, but it is not real, at least not in the traditional sense,” they explained in the text.
Since they also returned the prize, which was a $100 Australian photo print voucher, although they will be recognized as having the first award-winning photo created with AI.
“Surfers in our image never existed. Neither is that particular beach or stretch of ocean. It is made up of an infinite number of pixels taken from infinite photographs that each and everyone has uploaded online over the years.
The company did not specify which tool they used for the creation process, since there are currently three of the most famous for this type of content that are DALL-E, Midjourney and Stable Diffusion.
