Currently, gastronomic experiences focused on the “pairing”which is a combination of food with winewhere cheese dominates, the word pairing has its bases from the French language, mariage, which means wedding or marriage.
Throughout history, both cheese and wine were offered at important occasions and ceremonies to impress royalty and high-profile guests at social and political gatherings in Europe. Over the years, “maridaje” has become a favorite activity among “foodies”the foodies and the wine lovers. That is why the municipality of Cuautitlan Izcalli in the State of Mexico and the Wine House came together to carry out the Second Wine and Cheese Festival.
When will the Second Wine and Cheese Festival be?
To introduce the world of wines and cheeses, the Second Wine and Cheese Festival will be held at the Sculpture Parkin the Cuautitlán Izcalli Urban Center, the Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February.
What exhibitors will be at the festival?
For the 2023 edition, the festival will have more than 35 exhibitorsamong them artisans from the municipality, in addition to the presence of: La Cava de Maja, La Casa del Vino, Viñedo el Lobo, Vinos Guanamé, Tierra de Luz Hacienda Vinícola, Vinos La Yerra, Bodega Castabana, Vinos Andrade, Bodega Hacienda de Letras , warehouses of portuguese wines, Spanish peopleItalians, Chileans, Argentines, French and of course Mexicans.
The event aims to promote the development of the wine culture in Mexicoproviding a space for importers and distributors to exhibit and sell their products with the primary intention that all visitors know the variety and quality of the different wines and cheeses from Mexico and the world.
According to data from Mexican Wine CouncilIn the last five years, wine consumption in Mexico has increased from 450 to 950 milliliters per capita.
What activities will take place at the Second Wine and Cheese Festival?
During the festival there will be a series of activities, among which are: tastings, pairingspresentations of several books related to wine culture and a workshop to learn to sensory analysis of wineto explore its characteristics and properties at any of its 4 levels: visual, olfactory, gustatory and sentimental.
It will have an artisan corridor, a gastronomic area and cultural events.
