In Trentino Alto Adige there are 3 villages – depositidiborsa.it

If we are looking for a destination for a trip the day after Christmas, we should get to know Renon, Siror and Lavarone. Let’s find out why they look like they came out of a Charles Dickens fairy tale.

We leave as the first stop for Bolzano, precisely to reach the locality of Renon. Alone 10 minutes by cable car from the South Tyrolean capital we will be able to immerse ourselves in a fairy tale of other times. We will take the panoramic Renon cable car to reach the Soprabolzano station. The journey is really short but it will allow us to see the city and Piazza Walter illuminated, under a white blanket if we are lucky. Arrived on the plateau we will find a magical atmosphere with the Trenatale. It will seem to us that that short cable car journey has taken us to a fairytale place. A characteristic marketor without the classic houses now abused and decidedly too commercial. They are the ancient carriages of the Renon train to host local artisans.

You can breathe a little perfume in the air while our breath draws clouds in the pungent but pure and sparkling aire: mulled wine and local specialties will conquer the throat. This year you will also be able to reach the Plattner beekeeping museum in Costalovaraa historic farm which awaits us with a tonic welcome hot punch. Here children can have fun listening to many Christmas stories. The weekend of 29 and 30 December is A rich program of events is planned: carriage ridesthe animals of the crib that will visit the market, hiking with llamas and the concerts with the mountain choirs.

Siror and San Martino di Castrozza

We leave South Tyrol to move to Trentino and precisely to Siror in Primiero. We are exactly under the famous Pale di San Martino. In Siror is held the oldest market of Trentino and perhaps also one of the most evocative of the province. Here the market is called Christkindlmarkt and as in German towns it is dedicated to the Child Jesus. You immediately enter the Christmas setting with a taste of the braze del primierotti. It is impossible not to taste, in one of the restaurants in the valley, the shear it, a square lean cheese to be blanched and enjoyed together with polenta. We take advantage of making a ride on the troika through the streets of the town and we admire the sculptors who, live, will create Christmas sculptures. On New Year’s Eve, then, the great concert of the Alpine Symphony Orchestra awaits us. If we wanted to ski, we could take a leap on the ski slopes of San Martino and Passo Rolle.
