The president of the National Auto Parts Industry (INA), Francisco González met with German companies related to mobility, to analyze the potential of hydrogen as an energy source in the automotive sector.

When attending the Hannover Messe 2023 event, the most important industrial fair in the world, which takes place in Germany biannually, the leader of the auto parts industry spoke with businessmen from that sector to learn about the potential of the hydrogen as an energy source and the action plans that are being implemented to promote it as a clean mobility solution.

The business leader highlighted that direct foreign investment from Germany in Mexico in the auto parts sector totaled more than 6,271 million dollars from the period from 1999 to 2022. While Germany and Mexico are among the top 5 auto parts exporters globally.

Germany is in a process of developing the national hydrogen strategy to achieve decarbonization industry and transport, as well as reduce dependence on Russian gas.

Meanwhile, Mexico is seen as a country with the potential to be competitive in the manufacture of hydrogen electric turbines, as well as conditioning, transportation and storage equipment, which will require the development of dedicated talent and the strengthening of manufacturing ecosystems. related technologies in a market for the production of hydrogen components and equipment.

So the automotive industry could continue to prosper in the country, taking advantage of a robust manufacturing ecosystem, according to a document prepared by Mexico-Germany Energy Alliance.

The president of the INA participated in the third edition of the Mexico-Germany CEO Roundtable, chaired by the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) with the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Concamin), the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex), the Association of the German Industry (BDI, for its acronym in German) and the Latin American Committee of German Companies (LADW, for its acronym in German), in collaboration with the Embassy of Mexico in Germany.

“With this mechanism, made up of businessmen and high-level officials, the aim is to improve the business ecosystem between the two countries to strengthen their bilateral relationship, through recommendations to governments that favor the economy and competitiveness,” the industry reported through of a statement.

Francisco González also met with German businessmen from industry 4.0 to learn about advances in Artificial Intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality, as well as their applications in the automotive and auto parts industry.
