The Indios de Ciudad Juárez secured victory in the first series of the 2023 State Championship by defeating the Mineros de Parral 6-4 in the second match of the weekend, which took place this Friday night at the Estadio Juárez.

The indigenous team had already defeated Parral’s team last Thursday with a score of 10-3 in the opening game.

In the actions of this Friday, the offensive power of the Indians was unleashed in the third inning. Reinforcement Carlos ‘Hulk’ Díaz got loose in the batter’s box with a double to send Julio Pacheco and Christian Renova to the register to move the score to 2-0.

A line drive to left field by () drove in two runs for the visit and the score was tied leading off the fifth inning.

Still in the same episode, the Miners took the lead with a wheelie race, the danger ended with Andrés Ledezma already on the hill, taking over from starter Alejandro Martínez, who left the match tied 2-2.

A sacrifice fly by Yahir Gurrola tied the score again (3-3) in the bottom of the fifth.

Still in inning five, and with a full house, Víctor Ruiz hit a hit to right field to send two men to the register and return the lead to La Tribu, now 5-3.

In the sixth inning Julio Pacheco was about to make a triple, upon reaching third base he was greeted with Doña Blanca in a glove, but his effort was not in vain, as a man from Indios stepped on the plate and made it 6-3 on the blackboard.

In the eighth round, the visit brought a bit of drama with one more score and made the score 6-4, but with the work of Luis Serna on the mound, the Indians sealed their second championship win and secured the first series of the 2023 season.

This Saturday La Tribu receives the Dorados de Chihuahua in search of maintaining the good pace and the undefeated. The game starts at 7:30 pm at the Estadio Juárez.
