The president of the National Rally denounces the ultimatum issued by Indochina. The group wishes to cancel its visit to the Déferlantes if they take place in Perpignan, a city managed by Louis Aliot.

“Let them be a little respectful”. Jordan Bardella, president of the National Rally, reacts this Monday on BFMTV to Indochina’s position. The French rock group communicated on Saturday to threaten to withdraw from the Festival Les Déferlantes if the musical event takes place in Perpignan, an RN city managed by Louis Aliot.

“It is deeply sectarian and disrespectful for the thousands of their fans who, probably, are also National Rally voters,” said Jordan Bardella. “When you’re an artist, you don’t play politics. You don’t sort the people who come to your concerts according to their political opinions.”

“Perpignan is a city of 121,000 inhabitants”, he continues, denouncing a “totally discriminatory attitude” which he finds “shameful”. “There are probably among these 121,000 inhabitants people who love Indochina. I would like these artists, who have made a lot of money on the generosity of the French people, to be much more respectful of political opinions which are private opinions. .”

Indochina put “in front of the fait accompli”

The festival Les Déferlantes was initially to take place in Céret, in the same department of Pyrénées-Orientales. The decision to change location was taken by the organizers to improve the “comfort” of festival-goers and to adapt to the “ambitions of the festival”, specifies a press release from the management.

“Yesterday morning, we were faced with the fait accompli, that the Festival Les Déferlantes, where we are scheduled on July 8, was moving to Perpignan instead of the site initially planned”, lamented on social networks the formation led by Nicola Sirkis Saturday.

“Last night, the RN mayor of Perpignan tweeted that he was happy to host the Festival Les Déferlantes”, continues the group, before formulating its ultimatum: “We expressly ask the management of Les Déferlantes to move this festival to a another place, otherwise we will cancel our visit.”
