Three times in barely a month, Chatenay-Malabry police officers have been targeted by threatening and insulting tags written on the walls of buildings. Investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators.

“Unworthy attacks.” This is how the prefect of police of Paris qualified this Wednesday anti-police tags discovered in Chatenay-Malabry, in the Hauts-de-Seine. “We are going to kidnap your children”, “cut off your mother’s head”, or even “put a bullet in your head”, are all threats written on the walls of a building in the Butte-Rouge district in the night of December 27 to 28, and specifically targeting agents of the Anti-Crime Squad (BAC).

The prefect of police Laurent Nunez went there to show his support for the officials, who are regularly quoted in tags hostile to the police, learned BFMTV from concordant sources.

Intimidation attempts

Thus, ten days earlier, on December 19, insulting graffiti was discovered in the hall of the same building in the Butte-Rouge district. Four officials are specifically threatened: “jv sequester you and cut your nails [sic]“, “you will cane you will burn”, while another inscription specifies that the authors of the tags hold the addresses of the police officers targeted.

That same day, a policeman was informed by one of his neighbors that two men had questioned him about the official’s address, claiming to be friends. They could not, at this stage, be identified.

Then, at the beginning of December, still in the same building hall, police discovered several tags on the wall. The threats this time are directed against six officials.

The day after this discovery, one of the policemen quoted by the graffiti claims to have seen a car parked in front of his home, with four individuals inside, without them being able to be identified.

Several investigations are underway, led by the Nanterre prosecutor’s office for heads of “degradation”, “contempt”, “death threats against persons holding public authority”, in order to find the authors of these graffiti.
