The ophthalmologist who treats the former sports leader, Juan Ángel Napout, commented that his vision has fully recovered after the interventions he underwent after his arrival in our country.
“He is very happy and thanks at all times. He really wants it to be known, because people doubted that he was blind, I took it upon myself to clarify that he was blind, in the right eye, the first eye operated on,” said Dr. Enrique Capello, an ophthalmologist, in conversation with 780 AM .
indicated that Napout recovered 100% of his vision. In this sense, he expressed that in one of the eyes the cataract was less important than the other.
“Specifically the right eye was going to be much easier, because we had to remove the cataract and after 3 weeks perform a laser capsulotomy. Then we just operated on the second eye,” Capello said.
He also explained that the cataract produces reversible blindness, as long as the other nerves are fine, such as the cornea and retina.
Napout arrived in Paraguay exactly one month ago, after obtaining compassionate release from the United States justice system, where he was in prison for more than 5 years.
