Investigation into Multiple Palm Beach Shootings Closed

Boynton Beach authorities said three shootings in recent days are completely independent and unrelated. The police implore the help of the community to find those responsible for the death of a teenager who lost his life in one of these incidents.

From last Sunday to Wednesday night, four people were shot and a teenager was killed in a total of three separate incidents in the city.

Ty Penserga, Mayor of Boynton Beach, said that “these three incidents that have occurred in the last few days, they are not going to derail the progress that we have made in the city.”

Authorities claimed these shootings were unrelated. The first occurred last Sunday where a teenager died after a fight between two groups during a party.

Boynton Beach Police Major Michael Kelly says there is “an active investigation and we’ll give you more information as it develops.”

The second shooting occurred Wednesday morning in which three people were injured. “This investigation is closed, although we have probable cause to make an arrest, the victim refused to press charges.”

A short distance away and 4 hours later, another shooting between adults occurred. One of the victims is in critical but stable condition. In all of the shootings, authorities recovered several firearms.

Boynton Beach Police Chief Joseph DeGuillo warns that “the safety of our community is our number one priority and we are committed to solving these crimes and have dedicated all available resources.”

Any information the community has, police have asked that they please contact the Palm Beach County Crime Hotline at 1 800 458 8477.
