Protecting private Safari tabs with biometrics – this is how it works

With iOS 17, Apple is improving the handling of private tabs in Safari. Starting with iOS 17, it is possible to use Face ID or Touch ID to unlock private tabs. The setting for this can be found in the settings Safari -> Privacy & Security. Once activated, your face or fingers will be scanned when opening private tabs.

This means that no one who gets their hands on your device can easily access the pages opened in this way.

Better keyboard with iOS 17

With iOS 17, Apple worked on the built-in keyboard, among other things. One of the changes is simple grammatical checks when typing. Errors can be corrected as usual using Autocorrect. Problems found are highlighted and alternatives are offered.

The keyboard also learns how users write. This data is used to make better predictions. More languages are also supported.
