Irregular presence of the Army in the streets of Bolivia raises concern

PEACE – The president of Bolivia, Luis Arcedenounced this Wednesday “irregular mobilizations” of the military at a time when troops and tanks were stationed in front of the government headquarters in La Paz.

“We denounce irregular mobilizations of some units of the Army Bolivian. Democracy must be respected,” the president wrote on his social network X.

“The coup d’état is brewing. At this moment, personnel from the Armed Forces and tanks are deployed in Plaza Murillo,” Morales said in X.

“We call for a National Mobilization to defend Democracy against the coup d’état that is being planned by General Juan José Zuñiga, commander of the army,” said in another message on the same social network.

Meanwhile, the General Commander of the Army, Juan José Zúñiga, said in statements to the media “We are going to take (the Casa Grande del Pueblo). Enough of so much outrage.”
