Madrid, 16 apr. Italian referee Daniele Orsato has been appointed by UEFA to referee the match between Chelsea and Real Madrid, next Tuesday at London’s Stamford Bridge stadium, corresponding to the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.

Orsato will have his compatriots Massimiliano Irrati in charge of VAR and Paolo Valerico as his assistant. Maurizio Mariani will be the fourth official and Ciro Carbone and Alessandro Giallatini the assistants on the wings.

Real Madrid starts with the 2-0 advantage they got in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

Orsato, 47 years old and international since 2010, has directed five games this season in the highest European competition: Manchester City-Borussia Dortmund (2-1), Eintracht Frankfurt-Tottenham (0-0), RB Leipzig-Real Madrid (3 -2), Porto-Atletico Madrid (2-1) and Bayern Munich-Paris Saint-Germain (2-0).

He has also led PSV Eindhoven-Sevilla (2-0) in the Europa League this season.
