Moritz Jenz would like to stay at FC Schalke 04. In an interview with ‘Sport Bild’, the 23-year-old central defender explains: “If I could play for this club for more years, that would be awesome for me. It’s a huge motivation for me to do it. I really want it to work.” According to reports, a purchase obligation of four million euros is anchored in the contract of the native Berliner, which will take effect if the royal blues hold the class. The Royal Blues loaned the right-footed player from FC Lorient in the winter.
Previously, a loan deal from the defense giant to Celtic Glasgow was broken off. With a view to the premature end of his Scottish adventure, Jenz says: “There are moments when a coach chooses other players to play. Then it got difficult for me. Lorient, my home club, then also sought a change.” And further: “Celtic had a purchase option for the coming summer and from Lorient’s point of view it was becoming increasingly unrealistic that this would be exercised. It was also my clear wish to change clubs.” The clearer had been in contact with Schalke even before his commitment to Celtic.
