When Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) sees the talking robot Hero, who steps forward between two bookshelves in the school library, he says:
– He is about my height.
It is an upbeat atmosphere as students and teachers flock around the prime minister. He has come to the school, among other things, to talk about anti-Semitism and what the government wants to do to counter it.
A friend as a robot
The robot Hero is part of an AI project at the school that deals with empathy.
– We program him so that he can talk to children and young people who do not want to talk to a real psychologist, says Elsa Medynski, who is in grade 8 at Oxievångsskolan.
She and her friends get to visit Ulf Kristersson, but it won’t be much more.
– It was cool, says Clara Erlich.
Two hours later, Ulf Kristersson leaves Oxie.
– It was a unique event. You don’t know if it will happen again, says Natalie Brajkovic.
In the clips, the robot Hero shows what he can do….if he wants to.
