In the post match interview with Ivan Juric, the grenade coach said that his team dominated the opponents
Milan-Turin ended with a defeat for the grenades; defeat that certainly does not reflect what was seen on the pitch because Toro has churned out a great performance. Unfortunately Giroud’s goal extinguished the hopes of the grenades by giving Milan 3 very important points. Ivan Juric speaking in the post match interview he commented saying that his team deserved more for what we saw, saying that Toro dominated the match. In fact, many statistics agree with the grenade technician. Ball possession is in favor of Torino (53.7%)as well as corner kicks (8 from Toro against 3 from Milan) and the total shots (12 by Toro, while those of Milan are 9). Going forward we can see that the granatas made 60 more passes than the Rossoneri, and Juric’s team was also better in passing accuracy. Another stat where grenades dominate is that of cross (20 for Toro against 11 for Milan).
Milan better than Toro in shots on goal
Unfortunately, however, the Rossoneri were able to do better in what is the most important statistic: shots on goal. In fact, Pioli’s team managed to hit the goal 4 times, twice as many times as the Bull did. This is a very important statistic, the one that is most directly connected to the goals scored and Milan had more shots on goal and in the end managed to bring home the 3 points. Surely given the performance, the grenades would have deserved something more, but certainly also that we need to improve on the finalization. Lots of opportunities created with excellent reasoned actions but only two shots on goal. Obviously not enough to beat a team like Milan.
