Nekkaz announces that he renounces politics in Algeria
On January 2 of the current year, Rachid Nekkaz announced that he was renouncing to exercise politics in Algeria, declaring “I stop politics”, in a short press release, published on his Facebook page.
On this same press release, we can read that following “the surprise cancellation of an 18-month pardon, here is the open letter from the deposed citizen Rachid Nekkaz to President Tebboune.
Moreover, in this same press release, it is specified that “in my steps inspired by the illustrious Emir Abdelkader at the end of his Algerian epic, Rachid Nekkaz wrote to Mr. President Tebboune on December 10, 2022 to officially announce to him that he had resigned himself, by force of circumstance, to stopping the policy in Algeria. »
In addition, he explains that Rachid Nekkaz “now wishes to devote himself exclusively to solving his health problems (prostate, nasal breathing, hearing). “But also” to writing and to his family that he selfishly sacrificed and abandoned in the United States for 10 years and that he has not seen for 3 years, monopolized as he was by the idea of contributing humbly to the building of a democratic state in the country of his late parents. »
