“Tomorrow is the debut of Hojas por el Barrio”maintains its vocalist, Lucas Jauvetin dialogue with 0221.com.arregarding the date that the band will give in the next few hours in the Opera Theater. It is that, although the group has a long history in the independent scene of the city, the circumstances are different.
After several years of facing some legal problems related to trademark ownership, the musicians that made up Hojas Secas had to rename their projectwhich was so installed in the La Plata circuit since its formation, in 2006. However, the formation remains: Lucas is accompanied by Luciano Canevaro (guitar), Lautaro Puglia (battery), Franco Jauvet (low), Fermin Huergo (guitar) and Damien Mole (keyboards).
On April 14 they will land at the room located at 58 between 10 and 11 with a review of their four albums: It no longer mattered what they would say in the neighborhood (2009), dance it (2011), I’ll be back at dawn (2015), zodiac and political (2019), all released under the label LAPTRA discs. And, in addition, with the live premiere of a novelty.
With the name change also came a new single, “Believe in Me Again”, which follows the tone of his new awakening. Recorded by Pipe Quintans in studies I wonder and mastered by Diego Warrior, this recent release is a production with attention to detail, which proposes diverse soundscapes, between stridency and harmony. True to their exotic DNA, the band transports the listener to a world where everything is distorted.
-What will be special about tomorrow’s show?
-To begin with, it will be at the Opera Theater, one of the largest and most beautiful places in the city. We have played there several times in previous years, but never as a headliner. In addition, it will be in a very particular context: even though the band is the same, we change our name and there is a climate of renewal and resurrection. We released a new theme on Easter day, the day of the resurrection, so it’s all a bit related.
-What can you say about “Believe in me again”?
-Actually it’s not a new song, it’s the first song we did with the band. That song is from 2005 and it was originally in English. It was a different time and we had other interests. Today is a kind of request to the followers to believe in us again, but also a call to believe each one in himself, an invitation to trust and self-love.
-And it is accompanied by a video clip with a lot of emotional charge…
-If he video It brings together images from the last ten years: filming with cell phones, with analog and digital cameras, friends who have gone to film one night. It is a tribute to what we were and a request that they return to join us in whatever comes.
