The Buenos Aires Minister of Transportation Jorge D’Onofrio, together with leaders of the Metropol company and leaders of the UTA, announced this afternoon that after an agreement the force measure that affected -among others- line 195, which connects to La Plata with Federal Capital.

The head of the Transport portfolio signed the agreement document together with the manager of Metropol’s Institutional Technical Relations, Luciano Fusaro, and the general secretary of the UTA, Roberto Fernández.

“The company is committed to restoring the service and the union is committed to accompanying all the necessary measures to sustain their operation,” explained D’Onofrio, adding: “From the Buenos Aires Ministry of Transportation we are committed to finding ways of dialogue necessary to resolve the issues and that the services be normalized as soon as possible”.

In turn, the Minister stated: “This conflict is an economic issue. There is a judge who 20 months ago issued a precautionary measure and did not provide a substantive solution. The province of Buenos Aires does not participate in the liquidation of the subsidies, but only pays what the Nation indicates”, and highlighted: “We people from Buenos Aires are the main victims, because 66% of the companies’ vehicle fleet works within PBA and the rest, which are national lines, also transport mostly Buenos Aires citizens.

Likewise, D’Onofrio explained: “When a service is not provided, as a public official I have the duty to activate all notices, from fines to expiration. Metropol today is showing the will to recover the service”, and concluded: “I appreciate the goodwill of the company and the union, for having found this area so that people, which is the only thing that matters, can travel again without problems ”

Through its social networks, the transport company made the agreement official: “From this moment on, all the services of the lines that were affected will begin to be progressively restored, for a period of 72 hours, as a result of the efforts carried out by Minister D’Onofrio”.

“We appreciate your intervention in this process, pending the resolution of the underlying problem. Once again, we apologize to all our passengers for the inconvenience caused,” they concluded.
