The talk before the Masters was about the meeting between the stars from the PGA and LIV tours.

And before the final round at Augusta, it was LIV in the lead, as Brooks Koepka was in first place with a lead of four strokes. But the American couldn’t handle the pressure – and had to see himself passed by a PGA player.

It was a Spanish victory cheer. Jon Rahm rose from second place and took home the season’s first major as the fourth Spaniard.

Rahm won with a score of -12, despite his rare start to the tournament. He began Thursday with a double-bogey on the first hole – the worst start a winner had had since 1952.

Celebrating in the classic green victory jacket also meant that a juicy prize money awaited Rahm. The 28-year-old will receive $3.24 million for the victory, which is clearly more than the $2.7 million that winner Scottie Scheffler received last year.

Behind Rahm, Koepka and Phil Mickelson landed at eight under par.
