On InstagramBigflo explains that this choice to create this “alter-ego” (translation of Bunshiin in Japanese) emanates from the artist’s desire to “let off steam” musically without having to release these creations under the Bigflo and Oli labels.
“Often I let off steam by making sounds that are too weird for Bigflo and Oli, so I release them under this name. I have no marketing strategy. No particular ambition except to make me love it”, he specifies on his Instagram account.
But let Bigflo and Oli fans be reassured, this new start does not mean that the two brothers are ending their common career. On Instagram, Bigflo also ensures that Oli supports him in this project: “Thanks to Oli for understanding his big brother chtarbé”, he writes in story.
Mystery of the Voice
Last November, Bigflo had already submitted to its community on Instagram his desire to make music under another artist name. “I would make weird sounds in recess mode where I let go. Something a little trap / hyper-pop under another blaze, just for the kiff”, he wrote at the time.
This story is reminiscent of the rumor around the character of La Voix, an artist whose identity has never been revealed and who released four tracks on YouTube. If several theories suggested that it was actually Bigflo, the latter has always wanted to keep the mystery around this question.
