On Saturday, it is artist and songwriter Kristian Kristensen (30) who is given special attention around the table at Kjerringøy in Hver gang vi metøs.

The 30-year-old from Harstad gave mentors and the audience a hard time when he participated in The Voice in 2013 with his unique, clear falsetto voice.

It didn’t end in victory then, but in 2015 he got a record deal with Warner Music Norway and won the Urørt final with “Lyset”.

In the same year, Kristensen released his first EP, Before it’s too late. Later came the EP Gressholmen and the album Kor vi ende in 2019.

Harstadværingen has written and composed a number of songs in his own dialect, and is particularly known for “You who talk”, “Du ga mæ willpower” and “Can you learn mæ?” which has been played several million times. The latter was also Spellemann’s nominee for Song of the Year and was also named Work of the Year at the Music Publishers Prize in 2017.

His releases are inspired by life’s ups and downs, family, death, love and outsiders, and often have a vulnerability and honesty about them.

At the latest last year, Kristensen released the critically acclaimed album 2003, which depicts the 30-year-old’s journey from young and uncertain to who he is today.

Since participating in The Voice ten years ago, Kristensen has become a dear artist to many, and is often referred to as “the man with the voice”. The northerner has also held many concerts in Norway, and appeared on stages such as Rockefeller and Sentrum Stage.
