Comedian Kristian Valen (48) has been charged with gross violation of the Arms Act’s prohibition on owning or possessing a weapon without permission from the chief of police.
Valen is also charged with drug offences. When the police raided his home in February 2020, they found over 800 tablets with the narcotic active substances diazepam and clonazepam.

The indictment consists of five different items.
Kristian Valen flatly replied no to whether he pleads guilty for each individual post.
Valen’s defender, lawyer Bernt Heiberg, has previously stated to TV 2 that the comedian finds it completely incomprehensible that the police have chosen to take the case to court.
– There are replicas that have been used by his production company for skits and other videos, says Heiberg and adds that the evidence sheet contains statements from doctors and weapons manufacturers, says Heiberg.
During the trial, the district court will see several different skits and videos where Valen uses the weapons for entertainment purposes.
Not questioned
Kristian Valen has not wanted to give a statement to the police during the investigation of the case.
– How does he feel about appearing in court?
– He is ready to fight. He is completely clear that he has not done anything wrong. He does not understand how this could end up becoming a police matter, says Heiberg.

On Tuesday morning, he explains the prosecution’s view of the case.
– The prosecution believes that neither the weapons nor the parts referred to in item 1 have been rendered permanently unusable. That is what the court must decide, and whether the defendant had sufficient intent, says Meeg-Bentzen.
On Wednesday, the police will take several of Valen’s weapons into the Oslo District Court to demonstrate why they believe the weapons have the potential to cause lethal damage.
