The phones of the EL DIA newsroom and WhatsApp (+5492214779896) have been filled with messages since last night due to a strong “smell of smoke” that can be noticed in different neighborhoods of La Plata. The neighbors assure that it makes their eyes “sting” and that they are concerned about the situation that has been taking place since last night.
For example, Marcelo, from the area of 13 and 76, stated around 11:30 p.m. that “at this moment, for the past 3 hours, there has been terrible smoke in this neighborhood.” As he indicated, “it comes from the quarry that covers from 17 to 19 and from 86 to 90”.
He also said that he filed a complaint with 147 at noon and at night, but received no response. “They burned garbage from 6 in the morning until 12:30 and started again at 9:00 p.m.,” commented the reader of the newspaper who communicated to report the serious situation they are going through. “The urban patrol does not care and this illegal garbage smoke is harmful to health. My daughter’s nose and throat burn, she also stings our eyes.”
