On the Cairo network, today’s programming, Tuesday 17 January, was changed due to a workers’ strike

Surely many viewers will have noticed that today, Tuesday 17 January, the programming of La7 has been completely distorted and the usual broadcasts have not been on air since the morning. The reason is one strike by workers (non-journalists) which had been called on Friday 13 January, but which in the end was postponed to today. The reasons for the strike were disclosed in a statement published by the La7 trade union representation asking the network owned by the president of Toro Urbano Cairo a improvement of working conditions by employees. Among the changes requested are: “greater flexibility in working hours”, “professional awards”, “a one-off financial contribution for daily life and an extraordinary commitment made in the past year” and “smart working”. All the requests made are considered very important to be able to aspire to a growth of the schedule. Already on the occasion of the proclamation of the strike on 13 January, the solidarity of the La7 journalists had already reached colleagues.
