Thousands of residents of a large area of La Plata, Berisso and Ensenada were once again placed on alert due to a new intervention by the ABSA company in the trunk pipe that runs under 50th Street in El Bosque. And this Friday the same thing could happen again.
In the last two weeks, the workers have had to return to the area several times, but they are unable to cover the holes that generate a torrent of drinking water and a lagoon at the intersection with 120.
After successive interventions in recent years, the 80-centimeter-diameter pipe that supplies a good part of Casco gave way again towards the end of spring at various points, between 115 and 118 streets.
Thus, throughout this month several interventions were carried out and it was always announced that it would be necessary to reduce the flow to work on the repair. Yesterday, it was the same and that again does not guarantee that it will be the last.
“Work is being done on a new loss detected on the exit of the Bosque Water Lifting Station. On this occasion, the tasks are carried out at calle 50 and 118”, reported ABSA in the last few hours.
As a result of the tasks, the firm indicated “possible affectation with low pressure and presence of turbidity in the area delimited by streets 128 to 19 and 32 to 72.”

In the morning hours, the claims for problems with the supply began to be added, from the total cut to low pressure.
In a building at 43 and 116, within the area considered critical as a result of the work, the faucets dried up: “All the buildings and houses have been without water since morning; ABSA acknowledges that they have a problem on Calle 50; but that well, yesterday was already completely flooded according to what the president of the consortium of my building informed us.
This is a problem that never ends and we are having a nightmare summer,” said a neighbor of the tower located in Barrio Hipódromo.
On the other hand, the state company reported that “a pipe is also being repaired at 19 between 515 and 516. In this case it is a break caused by machinery that was laying fiber optics in the area.” cleared up
Regarding this intervention, it was reported that the works could generate “low pressure or lack of water in the area bounded by streets 17 to 23 and 514 to 520.”
Later, the company clarified that the 50th street pipe “is being fixed as the breaks are discovered and the conditions allow it to be intervened.”
They were not the only complaints in the Region: “In Berisso, the water has an odor. I started to feel it since I got home, at three in the afternoon,” said Nancy, a neighbor from the cemetery area in that city, adding that “I called the company, they said they were going to send a crew and no one showed up. still”, he pointed out at the end of the afternoon.

Far from the area of work in the hull there were also problems, according to the statements made before this newspaper.
Among the areas, Villa Elisa. Neighbors of calle 50 between 3 and 4, in that town complained about a loss of water that has been going on for almost a month, since December 30, 2022 and for the moment, there is no solution.
“We made all the claims. The water that the neighbors do not have available is wasted. We don’t have pressure due to this loss”, commented Néstor, a resident of the area.
