We have already seen the flood of news arriving on League of Legends during the 2023 season in detail, starting with the Pre-Season launched at the end of 2022. In the in-depth analysis, however, we missed one of the most interesting changes for the match: a small change in early surrender vote to improve the gaming experience.

It was not Riot Games who spoke about it in one of its recent videos dedicated to all the unpublished elements arriving on the Land of the Summoners, but the developer Riot Auberaun. On Twitter, as you can see at the bottom of the news, he explained to fans that the test of a change to surrender rules on Normal matchesi.e. Blinds and Drafts.

Instead of forcing players to vote unanimously at the 15-minute mark to end the game as soon as possible, Riot will allow you to proceed even with 4 votes. It might seem like a small change but, in practice, it will certainly help improve the experience for players. In fact, it often happens that a single player blocks the surrender at 15 minutes, preventing the rest of the team from moving on to the next match; this new system, therefore, should solve the problem definitively.

According to Auberaun, moreover, the teams hardly manage to complete the comeback and winning the game after a failed early surrender vote and, indeed, the mood of the players worsens as a major disadvantage can lead some teammates to abandon the game or offend other players. Riot will continue to monitor the impact of this move on the community and on the champions themselves, implementing it first in Normal and, only later, in Ranked.

A few days ago we then saw the program of the Kick-Off 2023 event.
