Vienna – Since 2013, Rebecca Immanuel (52) has embodied in “The Mountain Doctor“ the role of Dr. Vera Fendrich – and as a colleague of Dr. Martin Gruber (Hans Sigl, 53) and wife of Dr. Alexander Kahnweiler (Mark Keller, 57) is an integral part of the ZDF home series. She is known to television audiences as a tough doctor – but she can also be very different, as her latest project proves.

This month it’s up to Dr. Vera Fendrich and her colleagues return to Ellmau when the eagerly awaited 17th “Bergdoktor” season begins. Even between the months of shooting, the likeable series stars are by no means idle and have a well-filled schedule. Ronja Forcher (26) and Mark Keller try their hand at pop stars and Rebecca Immanuel stands in front of the camera for new projects that are far from ZDF.
For the series “Mandy and the Force of Evil”, which is produced by Amazon Prime Video and is due to be broadcast later this year, Rebecca Immanuel swaps the doctor’s coat for a surprising look. In a first photo from the set in Vienna, the native of North Rhine-Westphalia can be seen next to her co-stars Eli Riccardi (25) and Bayan Layla (27) – and, in addition to blonde hair, wears a leopard print top and a matching hair band. This is how fans have changed clinic director Dr. I’m sure you’ve never seen Fendrich.
Hans Sigl’s secret guest role in “Der Bergdoktor”
Since 2008, Hans Sigl has embodied the title hero Martin Gruber in “Der Bergdoktor”. The exciting life of the country doctor inspires millions of loyal fans with every episode and has made his actor one of the biggest stars of German television. But what very few people know: the role as the son of Lisbeth Gruber is not Hans Sigl’s first Bergdoktor appearance. Because ten years before he slipped into the white doctor’s coat, he was already seen as a taxi driver in the popular series that was still running on Sat.1 at the time and in which Gerhard Lippert, a completely different mountain doctor, was the focus. Who knows – maybe an extra from the ZDF remake will one day succeed Hans Sigl?
